Villa Kaunela | Makasiini Club

Makasiini.1952 has been THE PROJECT this year, starting from a request to arrange a 70 yrs bday party at Villa Kaunela.
We started emptying makasiini from old farm, etc. junk in May.
Reconstruction as an event venue-to-be started in June, and fine tuning to be continued.
Seems like a big and creative project with hard work- and I have to admit ”mopo karkasi käsistä” i.e. it got out of hand pretty much when reconstruction started, and builders were there.
More and more ideas and innovations which were then executed. Kalle the main builder said at some point that I should stay in Espoo as every time I showed up, I had more ideas for them to work with.
I am very pleased with the result which is now nearing completion.
At the same time we have managed to bring up, store and exhibit many agri-culture articles of my ancestry, for the next generations to see and wonder in awe. History, roots and traditions in a showcase!
My sincerest appreciation to all those good people who have contributed to the success of the project.
The inauguration party was held August 1 in celebration of my second cousin Esa - and this party was the trigger to this project.
Was a good party and The Makasiini got good remarks from the guests and hosting family.
Next, marketing The Makasiini as a venue for parties, meetings, concerts, dance and other physical/ spiritual activities will follow.
The GRAND OPENING party with music, grill and fireworks (=kokko/ bonfire) in September - We will have the biggest kokko of the century on Kaunelanmäki!
Needless to say, I am still so excited! Still now, I enjoy doing some fine tuning work in The Makasiini while listening to my favorite Spotify songs on its superb audio system LOUD! 🤩
